Random Thoughts on a Saturday
Thoughts of no particular importance I felt the need to share:

I always think Britney Spears and that other blonde girl are the same person. Jessica Simpson. I have no idea which is which and I'm okay with that.

When I heard the Canadian National Anthem at a baseball game, I asked my friend why Canadians "Stand on God." Oh - it's Stand on Guard. That makes so much more sense!

I am terrible at jigsaw puzzles. As in - those 100 piece puzzles you buy for kids? It took me 2 hours to put one together. But Tetris? Which is basically an electronic jigsaw puzzle? I rock it. That doesn't make sense even to me!

I feel guilty that I like some of our dogs better than the others. What kind of dog mom prefers one baby over another?

When I decided to go back to school to study Simulation and Game Design, I didn't know that meant "computer programming." Oops. And since I don't play "kill or be killed" video games, there are some questions on our homework exercises I just can't answer.

For anyone keeping score - as of right now, I have an A in all three of my classes. That may change. But the worst I'll do, I think, is to make an A in 2 classes and a B in one. (I have a 100 average in my on-line "Intro to Games" class. Which is a ridiculously easy class. I thought about blowing off the last assignment but I just can't do it.)

I hate "Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer." I know it makes me sound like a dreaded SJW but I hate the fact that the other reindeer ignore Rudolph because he's different. But when he suddenly becomes useful, they are all his BFFs. What a bunch of reindeer hypocrites!! (Okay, maybe I'm a little too invested in Rudolph's happiness. I'll admit to that.)

I love the idea of Santa Claus. I love all of his images. When I was little, I would collect pictures of Santa as soon as he started appearing in the newspaper. (Yes, this was way before the internets.) How can you look at Santa and not smile???

I know way more about the first three Star Wars than anyone needs to. I am not at all excited about the possibility of new movies. And not because they are owned by Disney now. I love Disney. I don't care about the new movies because the first three Star Wars are their own perfect, contained world. Nothing will ever alter that. More Star Wars movies are superfluous. (Isn't superfluous a fabulous word? I'm also very fond of circuitous.)

What random thoughts would you like to share??

Here's my random contribution. I know you're mad at the director or whoever of the new Star Trek movie but when I saw there was finally some sort of video about it, you were the first person I thought of. Have you seen it? I was going to watch it but I was a little miffed, perhaps on your behalf, that it took so long for something to come out

You make me smile!!!

I watched the Star Trek trailer and I am not pleased. It's so dark and loud and Batman-like. We already have a Batman. We don't need another one.

I'm saying now I'm not going to see Star Trek. But as it gets closer, my resolve will probably crumble.

A random holiday-related fact
My mother used to give me ugly Christmas sweaters nearly every year. I gave them all to charity clothes collections because they were hideous. Now they're popular. I should have learned never to throw out clothes after my mother gave away all her Joan Crawford suits just before the 80s made them stylish again. But ugly sweaters? Who could have known?

I'm a 35 year old woman and I still believe in Santa Claus. I know he doesn't being the gifts, but he brings hope. When I was a child sometimes hope was all I had, so I still believe in him to keep hope alive in my heart.

I feel bad because sometimes I want to shake my beta/sister for ignoring my stories for months on end.

I have a weakness for fairies. Not child-like fairies... but the beautiful adult fairies bring a joy to my heart. (I also believe in fairies!)

I'm with you and I'm 47 years old and still believe in Santa Claus too. Santa brings hope and puts smiles on the faces of young and old so that brings joy to all of us.

Love sleeping Santa with the puppies and the kittens :-)

I believe in Santa and fairies!! And that life contains magical things we'll never fully understand.

You made me LOL with the comment regarding the Canadian National Anthem so of course I had to share it with my sister and it made her LOL. Don't you love it when that happens and start to sing the song, with the wrong words, and someone points it out to you?!

Star Wars, if they get back to the story and the amazing characters and not concentrate on all of the new stuff that can be done with the special effects that just might work. The first three are my favs, will always be my favs and I quote them all of the time.

Mark Hamill was one of my first fangirl crushes before I even knew what a fangirl crush was. Mark Hamill, Donny Osmond along with Richard Hatch all fangirl crushes. Did I just show my age there ;-)

I love Santa Claus too! Always makes me smile watching a child sitting on Santa's lap and getting that look of WOW on their face. Random Santa story....a few years ago one of my step-mom's great grandchildren came running into the room I was in on Christmas Eve all excited. He cames over to me and starts hitting me on the arm all excited saying, "Auntie Jean I saw Santa and Rudolph when I was in the car." You should have seen the look on his face, it was priceless and there was no way any of us were going to tell him that what he saw were the lights on a plane. He saw Santa and Rudolph and we were all excited with him.

I hear things wrong all the time! I don't really mind because it always makes me smile. For the longest time, I thought the line in "Margaritaville" was stepped on a Pop Tart. Although I couldn't figure out why there was a Pop Tart on the beach! Now no one knows what a pop top is so...

Star Wars!!! I was totally in love with Luke. Totally and completely!!!

I love the story about your "nephew" seeing Santa. What a magical moment that was!!!

Thank you for sharing your memories!!!

I know what a Pop Tart is and as a matter of fact there are some blueberry pop tarts in a cabinet in the kitchen right now.

I was a Luke girl and still am! Luke will always be my favorite Star Wars character.

It really was a magical moment and the excitement on his face was so adorable. My sister and I have also tracked Santa with the little ones in the family and it is always so much fun watching them getting excited and running out to tell Big Pa (that's what the great-grandkids call my Dad) that they saw Santa on his computer.

You're welcome and thanks for a great post and trip down Memory Lane.

Heehee! I love your random thoughts! And I totally agree with your thoughts on Rudolf. I mean, it's okay to hate on folks until they save the day? What if he'd never saved the day? Would it be okay to keep discriminating against him? What kind of Christmas story is this, anyway? Okay, okay...I'm taking a deep breath.

Take good care, dear! :-)

IKR? What kind of reindeer society are they living in? And why didn't Santa stop them? So many questions!!

;-)
