Your dogs are adorable and wonderful! I had a wonderful little dachshund who passed away a little over a year ago. I miss him and kind of don't want to "replace" him. It sounds kind of silly when I write it down, but it makes sense in my head. You sound so creative! That's great!

My dogs are a mess. If you decide you want a new one, you can have your pick of ours!!! Okay, not really. But sometimes 6 is too many!!!

One of the reasons we have so many is that we started out with 3. When one was diagnosed with a "fatal" heart condition, we got a 4th dog. Not that we were going to replace the one that was sick but because it's hard to be sad with a puppy in the house. The one with the fatal condition did NOT die to our immense relief. Once you have 4 dogs, adding 2 more isn't that big a deal, really. At least that's what we keep telling ourselves!

I have a friend who had a dachshund. He was adorable!! I'd love to have a dachshund to add to our herd but since the Newfoundland weighs 125 pounds and the "smallest" dog weighs about 40 pounds, I'd be afraid a little dog would get run over. (Apparently the Newfoundland thought I was sharing TMI. She just tried to stop me from typing. Petting her should be my only responsibility!!!)

Thanks for your comment. I'm still thinking about the "Things in the Trunk" story. I'll let you know if I get it started!!!

Your doggies are so cute!!! I'm still trying to persuade my other half to cave and let us get one. I just need a dog sitter for during the day.
