I have never been what you would call an "athletic" type girl. In fact, it would be safer to say I've always been a spectator rather than a doer.

As I've gotten older, I've become less and less of a doer. That needs to stop! I know exercise is good for me. I know it's really important. But has that knowledge been enough to get me out doing? No, it hasn't.

There is a lovely walking track about a mile from my house. I pass it every time I go anywhere. Why don't I stop and walk it? WHY???

I did today. I need to every day. I have no excuse not to. None.

I am posting this here to make myself accountable for walking. Every. Single. Day.

That is all.

Go you! If you don't use it, you loose it. I've seen too many people get old and frail before they were even out of their 50s. If you want to stay healthy and happy in your 50s and beyond, this is the way to go!

Exactly - use it or lose it. Although since I never had it, losing it is a good possibility!!!

thanks, BB!!!

I'm going to try.

No wait. "Try not. Do or do not. There is no try."

That's what I have to remember!!!

Thanks BB!!!

I'll make you accountable if you make me accountable, I'm the same, I'd rather be say writing, rather than putting shoes on and going outside and walking, but I'm trying to walk everyday.

SOunds like a good plan to me. I'm trying to walk 2km a night (its hot here during the day so evenings are good times for walking) but today is a wash out because it's bucketing rain here.

Go you!!! I had to stop running for awhile when I was in that accident, and I have not been able to get back to it. It is so hard to get started! I would rather sit here and work on graphics or write a blog post.

If you do it, I will do it. Pinky swear.

As long as you don't ask how much weight I've gained in the last 4 months because of my inactivity.

kapuahi made a comm for us!!!

Did she send you an invite??

And i do pinky swear!! I cannot believe the amount of weight I've gained since I went back to school. I don't step on scales when I can avoid it but I can't button my jeans. That's how I know it's past time to do something!!!

Accountability, walking buddies, pinky promises!!! We're doing this!

I've been letting things slip badly too. I *should* be running, biking or hiking at least three times a week. I went for a long hike on Saturday with D but I've done nothing since - my excuses have been that I've been too tired and it's been too cold, both of which are pathetic because I know from experience that I will end up less tired if I exercise, and I've run/biked at -5C before now and it's only 1C right now. So, I'm going to try harder from here on in.

You have a lot going on. It's no wonder you can't run or bike or hike the way you'd like. You'll get back in the groove, I'm sure!!

Bundle up before you go out!!!

kapuahi made a comm for us to be exercising buddies!

come join/inspire us!! And we'll do the same for you!

I hope you've been managing it! I am exactly the same - no enthusiasm for anything remotely exerciserly and yet I really should! I am SO UNFIT and now I'm finding myself putting on weight when I never did before - obviously, since I don't eat differently, it's to do with 'middle-aged spread', but serious exercise of even the most gentle, like walking, I find incredibly difficult to motivate myself into. I even took to paying myself a dollar for each walk a couple of years ago (in a money box so I could save up for something I wanted) but I still probably only have about $30 in it *sigh* )see, better at not touching money than I am at exercising).

But I'll send you all the vibes to help you get going, and I wish you all the best, and hope you keep walking! ;-)
