I'm Ready for 2014 Now!
A few days ago (a week ago?) I requested goals or activities I could undertake each day of the year. Being easily distracted and easily bored by routine, I decided I should try to do one thing each day of the week for the entire year. Thank you to all those who made suggestions, (especially kaige68 who was gracious enough to provide a list which included an item that I first read as "put lotion on your teeth." I decided not to use that idea.)

Here is my list:

Sunday – sew/knit/crochet
Monday – record five things for which I am grateful
Tuesday – take a route different from usual
Wednesday - take a picture of something interesting or something that makes me smile.
Thursday - compliment a stranger AND comment on line when I read something that speaks to me.
Friday – celebrate something silly*
Saturday – read/try a new recipe

Once a week – clean out a drawer/cabinet/closet
Once a month – throw out/donate to charity something that I no longer use
By the end of the year – finish 4 quilts (BTW this only sounds ambitious. I have 3 almost finished. This entails only starting and finishing one for the whole year.)

*Celebrate something silly was suggested by fairyniamh who provided an excellent link! 2014 Holidays & Observances (aka Awareness Days or Theme Days)

If you want to borrow this idea, I think it would be great fun to compare notes and see how we are doing.

Now I'm off to make very amateurish icons/graphics for each day!

That's any day that doesn't end in Y. That's the day we put lotion on our teeth. (Isn't that what your original list said? Hmmm….Maybe I'll double check.)

This is an awesome plan and I fully support it. Perhaps someday when I clear out the inboxes I can make a plan and join you!

I started a new scarf!!!

Because I don't have nearly enough half-finished projects in the house already!!!

Someone gave me yarn for my birthday and I've been knitting my own scarf (on and off) since, even though I have two dog sweaters and a few afghans to work on, and then there's the cross stitch and...

It does go on and on, doesn't it?

YAY for sticking to the plan though!! GO YOU!

OO look forward to following this! I started a crocket quilt last year, got all the way to February doing a piece a day. Then they stopped making my background colour and I could go no further haha.

This is so excellent! Good luck with it! I must have missed the idea one, or I would have definitely suggested "put lotion on your teeth." I think everyone should do that. I would also suggest "buy a pet woodchuck."

That's an awesome idea! Good luck with it, and I look forward to seeing how things go! (I'll pass; I have enough to occupy me, but yeah, awesome idea!)
