My tale of woe
My life has taken a turn toward the really, really depressing.

As you may know, for the last 2.5 years, I worked as a tutor at the school where I was going to school and where I formerly worked. I didn't get any hours during the summer semester but reapplied for the fall semester, believing erroneously, that I'd be rehired. I learned, officially, today that I will not be rehired. No reason was given - they are too frightened of lawsuits to ever give a reason.

Because I didn't have any work hours during the summer, I no longer have health insurance. I had been able to purchase it for a reasonable amount per month, but as of May, that became out of reach.

Besides the tutoring job I did not get, I have applied for 42 jobs and gotten 3 interviews. Needless to say - I was not offered a job as a result of any of those interviews.

I had been receiving unemployment but it is running out next week. It wasn't a lot of money but it helped.

I have been steadily adding inventory to my etsy store and have made ONE sale.

Can you imagine what a failure I feel like at this point?

I know complaining doesn't help but sometimes you just have to find a way to try and release your anxiety. I'm hoping this post will help.

I hope all of you are in a much better place. Hugs if you aren't. Hugs if you are.

I LOVE YOU!!! I would hire you in an instant if I could, especially where you can type while the administrative professional that I did hire cannot.

Not that it's a field you're looking for, but I'd do it!!

You are amazing, don't be disappointed about the school. They probably have to give the job to students who have not graduated. You have an excellent work ethic, and you love it when you do something right! You will find the place that you are supposed to be.

I am so, so sorry to hear that you're having to deal with this.

Nevada is a right-to-work state and employers are actually encouraged NOT to give employees reasons for termination for that reason. It sucks as an employee because then you wander around wondering why. :/

I've been through what you're going through now. And I know how discouraging and awful this all is. BUT IT WILL GET BETTER. It has to, right? You just have to hang in there no matter how bleak it can get. Finding a job is a messy process even when the economy is good.

Oh, and I've been wanting to ask - have you ever thought of making a Batman pillow? My 13-year-old is obsessed with Batman for some reason and I love all the superhero pillows you make. :)

Like Kaige said, you will find the place you are meant to be. Just remember to breathe. :)

*hugs* This stinks, but life will get better - it has to. Keep that determination going and keep applying. Look for something outside of your field in the meantime if you have to - it's often easier to get a job when you already have one, crazy as that seems - to help out.

And don't give up on your crafting - you make beautiful things! Have you thought about selling at markets?

Good luck with everything - I am sending you vibes that something will come your way soon!

It is damn hard to look for a job--looking for a job actually has to become your job. I know things are difficult right now, but it will get better for you--please don't lose heart, things will get better.
