OMG, me too. I was 6 when it came out and spent nearly everyday afterwards humming the stars wars theme. I drove my family nuts. Good times.

You were 6? I had just finished my freshman year of college. Now I feel even older!!!

I still love those movie!! (The first 3. Not so much those last 3.)

Woo! I did love it when it came out, and I still do - the first was the best, but I love the 'verse all the same.

and I was somewhat older than 6 myself, dunno about you...

I loved all three of the first ones. Those last three - no. Just no.

I was a little older than 6. I had just finished my freshman year in college! Sometimes I think it's a wonder I'm still alive!!!

Well, yes, I have to admit, I'm with you on that.

Woo! I was not quite that age - still at high school. It's always refreshing to know I'm not the oldest around here (not to make you feel worse, but THANK YOU!) Hee, you've got a lot of living left - if you live to be one hundred (and that's so possible these days), you're not much past halfway! ;-)

Yeah, I'm old enough to have given birth to Steve and Danny. (That would make Grace my granddaughter! Cool!) Not something I admit on a regular basis but it's true.

I am young at heart so that counts right?

Oh, that definitely counts! (cool, Grace's grandma! I may have to call you GG from now on! ;-) )

I love those movies!!! Just saying.

LOL @ the old comment since that is what I was thinking too!

Loved it when it first came out and still love it!

May the Force Be With You!

I'd just finished my freshman year of college. So I was... uhm... old. Older.

I love the first three movies!! I've watched them countless times. The last three - no. Just say no!

The Force Will Be With You...Always.

I need a Yoda icon. (No that's not a hint. Just a random observation!)

Same here! When the last three came out I went to see them and I can remember my sister and I reacting really badly to the finally one. They took the storyline of Lea remembering her mother and tossed it right out the window. Wrong, wrong, wrong since you got the impression that at least Lea was with her mother for awhile as a small child since she remembers her being sad. Wow, that mini rant came out of nowhere. Guess it shows how much I love the first three movies.

My favorite of the three is Return of the Jedi and I've probably watched that one the most.

LOL @ the comment regarding the icon.

Oh there was so much of the original three movies that was re-written in those stupid prequels. Lea does remember her mother!! Then Padema dies in childbirth? No!

There's also the fact that Darth Vader never once mentions Yoda. He thinks Ben taught Luke everything he knows. Then suddenly Anakin knows Yoda? Again - No.

Yes, I could go on and on. But there's not much point! I still love the original three like no one's business. And I always will. Plot holes and ridiculousness included.

Yes, to everything you just mentioned!

There is a magic about the original three.

Had to laugh, one time when my sister and I were at our Aunt's and Star Wars was mentioned and we said that we went to see it at the drive in when it was released. According to him we were old and also old since we were alive when Elvis died.

I also remember the rabbit ears on the TV, rotary phones and record players and the records with the skips in them. If you guessed I can go on and on you're right and you could add to the list too ;-)

Look there is Donny Osmond another oldie but goodie, at least to me :-)

Oh yes - rotary phones that didn't belong to you - they were owned by the phone company. Rabbit ears on the TV so you could get the 3 channels - ABC, NBC, CBS! Sometimes PBS if there was something high-brow your parents wanted to watch. And the weather was right.

I was in college when MTV premiered!!! Electric typewriters were state-of-the-art and computers were something only NASA could have! AND I remember the moon landing.

God I am old!

Wasn't Donny the dreamiest?
bluedelft on May 26th, 2012 02:52 pm (UTC)
Yes, the three channels. My sisters and I were also the "remote" control.

Wasn't Donny the dreamiest?

I've been a fan of Donny's for a long time. The first time I saw him performing live was when he was in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. As soon as we heard it was coming to Boston my sister and I got tickets right away, about 10 rows from the stage. Sitting there my sister looked at me and commented that it was a childhood dream coming true for me and she was so right. The picture in the icon was taken at a concert a few years ago.

Electric typewriters, we only had about 10 of them at the high school I went to so we would all take turns using them during typing class.

This has been a walk down Memory Lane!

Random person flying by. I'm going to a Star Wars play tonight! A group of people have been planning it for months, they made costumes and rented an apartment to for the stage. Can't wait. Should be fun :D
